A big-time celebration for the makers of Article 15 as the film reached the prestigious Award function called London Indian Film Festival or LIFF where it bagged the Audience Award. It is the tenth edition of the popular award function, which is backed by the group called Bagri Foundation along with the local group British Film Institute (BFI). The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer was the first one to get the screening at the said award function.
The film by Anubhav Sinha seemed to be a hard-hitting thriller and was released on June 20. The award was declared two days back and it got some time for the news to reach to the media. The film talks about the Article 15, which bars people to spread violence and other issues in the name of race, caste, religion, sex or birthplace. It talks about how the said Article of the Constitution is losing grounds in the land of people who have been ruling in the wrong direction.
The film happens ot be an investigative thriller and it has Ayushmannn Khurrana playing the IPS Officer, while others include Sayani Gupta, Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra seen in the lead roles. The film was directed by the Mulk fame director while it was distributed globally by the group – Zee Studios International. Talking about the award, the makers have released a statement thanking the jury and express their excitement. It also said that it is interesting to see how people abroad recognize the importance of law and order.
