Arjun Rampal has again made his place in the headlines but this time reason quite different or we can say for bad reasons. For failing to repay loan Arjun has reportedly been sued for one crore he borrowed. As per the reports Arjun had reportedly borrowed 1 crore with a plan to start his own entertainment company in may last year.. The actor had apparently promised that he would pay back his loan within a time period of 90 days, along with 12 per cent interest. However, he failed to do so.
As the Arjun failed to repay the amount company has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the actor despite the fact that Arjun had earlier revealed that the transaction has been concluded between the company and him. The reports also suggest that he had given the company a post-dated cheque of Rs 1 crore dated on August 23, however, the cheque had bounced. a criminal complaint was filed against Arjun in the metropolitan magistrate court at Andheri in October.
Bollywood actor Arjun has been served with a legal notice, under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, in which he was specifically directed to pay back the loan amount with promised interest within 14 days., back in October. Arjun had reportedly paid Rs 7.5 lakh earlier to the company but is yet to pay the remaining amount and the interest.
However, the company has reportedly rubbished all his claims of having paid Rs 7.5 lakh and instead insisted that the actor hasn’t paid a penny of the total loan amount he owes them.
However, the actor said the issue has been cleared. “The issue has been cleared and the transaction has happened,” said Rampal, adding that he would make it clear in court when the lawsuit came up for hearing.
