Praise for Adolescence and Creative Envy

Taking to Instagram, Anurag praised the series Adolescence, stating, “I just binge-watched Adolescence and I am left numb, envious, and jealous that someone could create something so remarkable. The performances by child actor Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham—who not only plays the father but is also a co-creator of the show—are outstanding. The amount of hard work that went into this production is unimaginable, especially considering the rehearsals and preparation required to shoot each episode in a single take. The geniuses behind the camera, Matthew Lewis and filmmaker Philip Barantini, have created something better than any film I’ve seen. The show takes its time and courageously captures every nuance. Congratulations to co-creator Jack Thorne, your team truly deserves recognition. It’s definitely not an easy feat to accomplish without a great team and sheer determination. My concerns regarding Netflix India follow in the comments.”

Mixed Reactions to Anurag’s Post

Anurag Kashyap’s post quickly garnered reactions from fans and industry professionals alike. While many resonated with his sentiments, others expressed differing views on Adolescence. Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur commented, “I completely agree with you, Anurag. Adolescence is absolutely brilliant.” In contrast, another user noted, “Unpopular opinion, but the last episode was average compared to the first four episodes.” Check some of the reactions as under:
