Anurag Kashyap REVEALS why he replaced Ranveer Singh with Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay Velvet

On the show Koffee With Karan 7, actor Ranveer Singh revealed that he was been rejected for a role in a movie named Bombay directed by Anurag Kashyap. The reason for rejection was he had less market value as compared to the actor Ranbir Kapoor at that time.

Recently director Anurag Kashyap told that Ranveer at that time was not accepted in the industry. In an interview with Pinkvilla Anurag Kashyap called the industry weird. Said that, Interestingly Ranveer is making movies with the very same people from the industry so it’s like the industry is weird.

Karan in the show asked Ranveer and Alia Bhatt whether they were ever rejected for any role. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress replied saying never while Ranveer spoke his heart out. He confidently said, ” I was not rejected, K (Karan Johar). I was unceremoniously dropped because at the time I couldn’t justify the budget. My star value wasn’t high. But things have changed.”

Note, today Ranveer Singh is one of the most influential and most successful actors in the industry. Even the market value of the actor is equal to the star boy Ranbir Kapoor which he has made on his own. On the work front, Ranveer is working on Rohit Shetty’s next movie named ‘Cirkus’. He will also be seen opposite Alia Bhatt in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ directed by Karan Johar himself.
