Anand Bakshi’s Son Criticizes ‘Saat Samundar Paar’ Remix Credits in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, Calls Added Lyrics a “Mismatch”

Rakesh Anand Bakshi, son of the legendary lyricist Anand Bakshi, has openly criticized the makers of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri over the remix credits of the iconic song Saat Samundar Paar. On December 24, he took to Instagram to challenge the decision to credit Karan Nawani as co-lyricist alongside his father for the updated version.
The original Saat Samundar Paar, composed by Viju Shah and penned by Anand Bakshi, was featured in the 1992 film Vishwatma and remains a timeless classic. The new remix, part of the Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday starrer, credits both Bakshi and Nawani, who performed the remake and reportedly contributed only a few additional lines.
Rakesh objected to this shared credit, arguing that adding one or two lines does not warrant co-lyricist status. He highlighted that while music credits differentiate between “original” and “additional” contributions, similar distinctions should be made for lyrics to honor original creators. He stated, “The producer and/or publisher should not claim credit for any writer, singer, etc. as co-lyricist for adding one or two lines to the original lyrics.”

He also described the newly added lyrics as inconsistent with the spirit of his father’s original work, disrupting the flow and intent of the verse. In his post, Rakesh tagged Saregama Music and the artist, urging the industry to adopt fairer crediting practices on streaming platforms. The remix has received mixed reactions, with some fans and viewers criticizing it for not matching the original’s charm. Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is slated for theatrical release on December 25, 2025. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
