An FIR has been filed against Shweta Tiwari in Bhopal for allegedly hurting religious sentiments with ‘bra’ comment
Actress Shweta Tiwari has been charged with hurting religious sensibilities after making a contentious statement during a debate about a new web series in Bhopal. The case was filed at the Shyamla Hills police station in Bhopal under Section 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code.
Shweta had claimed during the web series’ premiere event that ‘bhagwaan’ is taking her bra size, which did not go over well with many. Shweta made the divisive remark while promoting her next web series, which also features Sourabh Raaj Jain and Rohit Roy.
The FIR was filed soon after Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra became aware of Shweta Tiwari’s divisive statement.
Narottam Mishra, speaking to the media on Thursday, stated, “I have seen and heard Shweta Tiwari’s statement. I condemn it. I have instructed Bhopal Police Commissioner to investigate and submit a report to me soon. Action will be taken after that.”
Shweta Tiwari came in Bhopal recently to promote her next web series, which is set in the realm of fashion. Sourabh Raaj Jain, who played Lord Krishna in Mahabharat, also appears in the series. Speaking about the same, Shweta is heard saying in a video, “Meri bra ka size bhagwaan le rahe hain.” She’s being chastised for making a statement and making a joke about God.
