Amitabh Bachchan Acquires Another Property in Ayodhya, Plans Memorial for Harivansh Rai Bachchan: Reports

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has made a significant addition to his real estate investments by acquiring a 54,454-square-foot land parcel in Ayodhya. This property, located just 10 kilometers from the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir, was purchased through the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust. This marks Bachchan’s second land acquisition in the area, following an earlier purchase in Haveli Avadh on January 16, 2024.

Details of the Land Acquisition

Reports indicate that the latest land deal was facilitated by Rajesh Rishikesh Yadav on behalf of the Trust. According to a statement from Pratap Singh, Assistant Inspector General of the Stamp and Registration Department in Ayodhya, “We can only confirm that sale deeds have taken place. Once the local development authority approves the building plan, we will know the intended purpose of the two investments.

”Bachchan’s initial purchase in Haveli Avadh, situated near the Ram Mandir, was valued at Rs 4.54 crore. While this earlier acquisition may serve residential purposes, sources suggest that the newly acquired land is likely intended for social or charitable initiatives.

A Tribute to Harivansh Rai Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan established the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust in 2013 to honor his father, the esteemed poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He announced the formation of the Trust on his blog, stating, “I am happy to announce the formation of a Trust in the memory of my Father – HRB Memorial Trust – which shall work to collect funds for charity. My own efforts at creating events or acts to contribute to it shall be prime, and the list of the charitable work done shall soon be visible to all.”
