Amid the recent video controversy Randeep Hooda removed as ambassador of UN

Recently actor Randeep Hooda comes under the scanner of netizens when one of his old videos surf the internet where he was seen joking on the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati. Now according to the latest reports the actor has been removed from the position of the ambassador of the Convention for The Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS).

CMS is an environmental treaty of the United Nations. After the video went viral people on the internet started trending #ArrestRaneepHoods. As soon as the video came out the netizens started trolling him and calling it ‘casteist’, ‘sexist’ and ‘misogynist’ and demanded an apology.

Announcing the removal of Randeep CMS Secretariat released its statement. They said that “it does not reflect the values” of the CMS Secretariat or the United Nations. The statement also mentioned that they were not aware of the video and its content while appointing Hooda as a CMS Ambassador for Migratory Species in February 2020.

A video that is reportedly from a media house event held in 2012 has gone viral. In the 41-second throwback video, Randeep can be seen making a joke on the most notable Dalit leaders of the nation and.

The actor was appointed as the ambassador along with Australian explorer and environmentalist Sacha Dench and British biologist Ian Redmond OBE and had to serve his duties till 2023.
