Allu Arjun of ‘Pushpa 2’ Clarifies Non-Political Stance While Supporting Friend’s Campaign

Amidst his busy schedule with Pushpa 2: The Rule, Allu Arjun recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of his superhit film, Arya. Today, the renowned South superstar made an appearance at a political rally in Nandyala to extend his support to his friend, Shilpa Ravi Chandra. Shilpa Ravi Chandra, a friend of Allu Arjun, is contesting for the position of MLA on the ticket of the YSR Congress party. During the rally, Allu Arjun made it clear that his presence was not an endorsement of any specific political party. He emphasized that he was there solely to show support to his friend. The actor also mentioned that Shilpa did not ask him to attend the rally; he willingly chose to do so.
Allu Arjun’s Support for His Friend in Politics According to reports from Gulte web portal, Allu Arjun stated to the media, “I’m not here for any political party; I’m not supporting any particular party. But for my good friend Ravi Chandra Reddy, who hasn’t even asked me to turn up for canvassing, I’ve turned up myself. I want him to win. Ravi didn’t ask me to come here and campaign for him. He thought it was not wise to ask me, but I decided to come on my own. Usually, politicians rarely appear in their constituency after winning, but Ravi garu spends 4-5 months in a year in the constituency only, working for the welfare of people.”
On the professional front, Allu Arjun’s upcoming project is Pushpa 2: The Rule, a sequel to his 2021 blockbuster, Pushpa: The Rise. The first single (lyrical) titled ‘Pushpa Pushpa Pushpa’ was released a few days ago, becoming an anthem for Arjun’s fans. Directed by Sukumar, this Telugu action thriller also features Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in prominent roles. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on August 15, 2024.
