For the Ayushamann Khurrana’s starrer film called Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, it was a decent weekend. Even though the film has been dealing with a taboo issue, yet, it was promoted as a romantic comedy film attracting the family audience. In a sense, the makers were successful in doing so and thus gained a decent collection at the box office on the 1st weekend.
Well, the film scored 9.55 Crores on the partial holiday the passed Friday getting a decent collection. The collection went up on the first Saturday closing at 11.08 Crores on the second day, while similar was the story on the first Sunday as well. The Aanand L. Rai production film bagged 15.5 Crores at the box office. So, with these figures, the 1st-weekend box office collection for Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan was around 36.3 Crores, which is indeed a decent collection to opt.
As expected the film did well on the first weekend like all the previous movies of Ayushmann Khurrana, the collection was close to his previous movies’ collections with 44.57 Crores for Dream Girl and 43.95 Crores for Bala. Considering the fact that the film was a gay love story, it did not attract people in a big way as the taboo issue was attached to the same. The presence of Ayushmann Khurrana has also helped the film to get a good boost at the box office. Well, let us see, how the film would score during the weekdays as well.
