Alia Bhatt felicitated with Priyadarshni Academy’s Smita Patil Memorial Award for Best Actor
At the 38th anniversary celebrations of the top non-profit, socio-cultural, and educational institution, Priyadarshini Academy, Alia Bhatt received the renowned Priyadarshni Academy Smita Patil Memorial Award for her meritorious contribution to Indian cinema. Each year, top national and international awardees receive this prestigious award. It brings them worldwide recognition for their unmatched excellence and significant contributions to their areas. At the Academy Awards presentation ceremony this year, great achievers were recognized online. They were reconized by Union Ministers, Government of India, via a webinar set for September 19, 2022.
Speaking on the occasion, Alia said, “I want to thank the Priyadarshni Academy for bestowing me with the Smita Patil Memorial Award for Best Actor. It’s a tremendous honour to be here today, one I’ll cherish for the years to come. India has the most incredible legacy of the arts, and I’m eternally grateful that our work is a part of it. Cinema teaches us the importance of believing in the beauty of dreams, to follow them with dedication and humility, and never quit.”

When her movie “Darlings” was launched on an OTT platform, it quickly surpassed all other films in terms of viewership.
