Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force Receives U/A 13+ Certification with No Cuts

Two days ago, it was reported that Sky Force, the first major Bollywood release of 2025, has a runtime of 125 minutes. In this article, we’ll delve into the film’s censor report. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is known for its stringent scrutiny, often cutting scenes or dialogues that may not seem objectionable. Therefore, it comes as a pleasant surprise that Sky Force has emerged from the review process without any cuts.
As per the sources and Bollywood Hungama, “There are no cuts at all in the film. All the action scenes are retained, and the Examining Committee of the CBFC didn’t even request any dialogue or word to be muted or removed. This is quite rare.”
The only recommendation made by the CBFC was to include static anti-smoking and anti-liquor messages in Hindi. Once this adjustment was made, the film was granted a U/A 13+ rating. This new rating, which specifies age, was reportedly introduced in November 2024, alongside the implementation of UA 16+ and UA 7+ ratings. Notably, Pushpa 2 recently received a UA 16+ rating.
The censor certificate for Sky Force was issued to the filmmakers on January 16, with the film set to release in cinemas on January 24. In addition to Akshay Kumar, the cast features Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and marks the debut of Veer Pahariya. The film is produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films, with Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Vijan, and Amar Kaushik at the helm, directed by debutants Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur.
Lastly, Bollywood Hungama reported that the trailer for Chhava will be attached to Sky Force prints. Incidentally, both films are produced by Maddock Films. Chhava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, is slated for release on February 14, with its trailer launch scheduled for January 22 at the iconic Plaza Theatre in Mumbai.
