Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan Reunite After 18 Years for Priyadarshan’s Thriller Haiwaan
Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan have come together once again after nearly two decades to work on their eagerly awaited project with acclaimed director Priyadarshan. The production of their new Hindi thriller, Haiwaan, officially began today in Kochi, Kerala, marking a significant reunion for the popular duo.
Akshay Kumar delighted fans by sharing a behind-the-scenes video from the set, featuring a lighthearted interaction between him, Saif, and Priyadarshan. In the clip, Akshay holds a clapperboard while wearing a T-shirt labeled “Saint.” Priyadarshan playfully suggests Akshay should be wearing one that reads “Haiwaan” instead. Akshay fires back with a witty comment: “For all you know, he (Saif) must be the devil. This devil you know about and this devil you don’t know about.”

Alongside the video, Akshay captioned, “Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan… Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan. Starting the shoot for #Haiwaan today with my absolute favourite captain of the ship, @priyadarshan.official Sir. Great to be working with Saif after nearly 18 years. Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!!”This project marks Akshay and Saif’s first on-screen collaboration since their 2008 film Tashan, reviving the nostalgic chemistry fans have long awaited.
Haiwaan is said to be a Hindi remake of Priyadarshan’s critically acclaimed 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam. Produced by KVN Productions in partnership with Thespian Films, the movie also stars Kajol, Bobby Deol, and Einar Haraldsson in key roles. Filming will take place in Kochi, Ooty, and Mumbai, with the film scheduled for release in 2026.
