Ahead of the release of Samrat Prithviraj, Sonu Sood talks about pan-India films row
Sonu Sood has shared his views on the ongoing debate of pan-India films in the entertainment industry.
The actor is all set to star in the highly anticipated film Samrat Prithviraj. Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar star in the period drama directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The actors are presently busy promoting the film ahead of its release. Amid this Sonu discussed a variety of topics, including his feelings about pan-India films in a recent interview.
Talking about the growing phenomenon of Pan-India films and the idea of breaking down regional barriers, Sonu Sood said that good cinema should be seen by everyone.
“I was always a part of South movies. I have been doing movies in Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Marathi, Chinese – A lot of movies. I always believed then also that good cinema has to be seen by everyone. Language shouldn’t be a barrier where people are like, ‘I don’t understand the language. I don’t want to see that,’’ the actor said.
Sood further said, “Now with South movies doing so well, and Hindi movies getting dubbed in South – so that conveys it all that entertainment has to reach every house. It’s not important which language you shoot it. So yes, that gives a huge amount of responsibility also on your shoulders. Yet you have to make a good film otherwise people are not going to accept that. So, better technicians, better story, writers, better actors on their way,” to note Samrat Prithviraj will also be released in multiple languages.
Meanwhile Samrat Prithviraj is set to hit theatres on June 3rd. The trailer for Akshay Kumar’s historical-war film was recently released. The film is based on Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of Rajput warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan dynasty, and will also feature Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar in the role of Sanyogita. Chandraprakash Dwivedi directed the film, which was produced by Yash Raj Films.
