After Rahul Dholakia steps out of Taapsee Pannu’s Shaabash Mithu, Srijit Mukherji may reshoot the scenes which are already filmed

Taapsee Pannu starrer Shaabash Mithu got a new director in Srijit Mukherji after filmmaker Rahul Dholakia opted out. The film which is based on the life of the former Indian National Cricket team captain was already under making.

Before moving out of the film Rahul Dholakia had already shot a significant portion of the film roughly 25-30% in Mumbai’s Aarey Milk Colony and Hyderabad’s Ramoji Rao Studios. Now according to the reports new director, Srijit Mukherji will reshoot the scenes.

After the second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak the makers had to halt the shoot of Shaabash Mithu in Hyderabad.

“Their next shoot stop was Bengaluru, where a Kannada star would have joined the cast,” a source was quoted by BOW as saying. The report also added that the film’s schedules had to be postponed for an indefinite time and the unit members had to return to their hometowns.

While this was happening Dholakia had to step down from the film after learning that Taapsee had a limited schedule and would have to film in snatches.

Since Mukherji has taken over the project, he decided to redo the scenes. Now the producers Viacom 18 are debating whether they want to reshoot the segments of the film that Dholakia has shot or keep them as it is.

“It is not even decided whether Dholakia’s portions will stay or not, credits toh baad ki baat hai (the credits will be discussed later),” the source told TOI.
