The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday sealed actor Sanjay Kapoor’s Juhu residence. The official declared it a containment zone after Kapoor’s wife Maheep tested COVID-19 positive.
BMC had previously blocked Kareena Kapoor and Amirta Arora’s residence after they contracted the virus at a private dinner party hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar.
Meanwhile, BMC officials are tracing and testing anyone who has come in contact with the afflicted celebrities using RT-PCR tests. At least 40 individuals are believed to be in Karan Johar’s building, including his ten employees, his mother Hiroo Johar, and himself. While KJo tested negative for COVID-19, additional results are still pending.
BMC employees were seen sanitising Karan Johar’s, Kareena Kapoor’s, and Amrita Arora’s respective buildings on Tuesday morning. Apart from Kareena, Maheep, and Amrita, the virus has also infected Sohail Khan’s wife Seema Khan and their son Yohan, who are recovering at home under quarantine.
BMC had previously claimed that Kareena and Amrita had been breaking COVID-19 rules by going to parties despite testing positive for the deadly virus. Soon after it was discovered that Bebo had tested positive for COVID-19, the actress’s official spokeswoman issued a statement on Monday clarifying that she had contracted the virus at a recent private dinner.
Thespokesperson said, “Kareena has been extremely responsible throughout the lockdown period. She has been careful every time she’s stepped out. Unfortunately, this time she and Amrita Arora contracted COVID at an intimate dinner where a few friends had gathered to catch up. It wasn’t a big party as being reported. Among that group, there was one person who seemed unwell and was coughing, and who eventually passed it on. This person should have been responsible enough to not attend the dinner and put others at risk.”
Bebo is taking all required precautions while under home quarantine, according to the reports. The reports also suggested that the singer is doing better and is working closely with the authorities.
