This Diwali is special for Karan Johar as he gets his best of the gifts ever with his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil getting really a good collection not just on first day but in its first weekend as well. The romantic drama starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Fawad Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has really done well despite the rough road the film has undergone through its promotion phase. Thanks to the agitations of fanatic groups and other similar things in the media.
As per reports, the 1st weekend box office collection for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil tolled to around 35.60 crores. The first two days went steady with the collection reaching to 26 crores, however, the dip on Sunday was primarily due to the Laxmi Puja in the evening that laid the loss to the film. Yet it has managed to beat the other big release of 2016 this Diwali called Shivaay.
For Shivaay, the opening day was decent one as compared to the rest of the two days with the figure reaching to 10 crores. However, the film failed to well over the multiplexes as it happens to be a mass movie. Thanks to the nature of the movie which falls under the massy one, suiting the perfect to the single screens only, and Sunday was obviously low due to the Puja of the festival.
As per reports, the first weekend box office collection for Shivaay tolled to around 26.50 crores as the figure went down to low on Sunday. However, considering the fact that Monday too is holiday for people celebrating the festival of light can have the chance of witnessing a decent surge. On the other side, the tough competition posed by Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, it will certainly going to emerge as a big hurdle.
