Bio – Aditya Roy Kapur is an Indian actor, VJ, TV host and model who were born in the year 1985 on 16th November. He debuted from his movie called London Dreams and later gained the visibility for his roles in movies like Guzaarish and Action Replayy. In the year 2013, he got the recognition and fame for his performance in his first commercial success movie called Aashiqui 2. The commercial success of the movie Aashiqui 2 gave him a recognition, which backed by another blockbuster movie – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. His performance was applauded all across the nation along with the overseas market.
Aditya comes from a Punjabi family to a Jewish mother and North Indian father. His mother- Salome Roy Kapur Nee Aaron, is a former Miss India (1972), who did modeling and choreography, in a couple of movies including Tu Hi Meri Zindagi, Bobby, etc. He did his schooling from GD Somani Memorial School Cuffe Parade, Bombay and did his college from St. Xaviers College. He is among the youngest siblings, his elder brothers Siddharth Roy Kapur and Kunaal Roy Kapur are well settled in Bollywood with the former being the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures, while the latter is an actor.
Aditya, however, is not a trained actor though has taken dance and diction lessons to groom his Hindi accent. As per him, he never dreamt of becoming an actor and was happy being a VJ till he got the break in London Dreams. During his school days, he aspired to be a cricketer, however, he left the cricket coaching, while she was is in her 6th grade. Aditya started his career as VJ in Channel V wherein his sense of humor and unique way of hosting really made him popular. He then got a chance to act in a musical London Dreams wherein he acted with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. He then got the chance to act in movies like Action Replayy, Guzaarish, Aashiqui 2 and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, wherein he proved his worth before the audience and critics.
He is now working on his forthcoming movie Daawat-e-Ishq from Habib Faisal made under Yash Raj banner working in opposite to Parineeti Chopra. He is also working with Assi Nabey Poore Sau, while has also signed another movie called Fitoor, which is basically the adaptation of Charles Dicken’s Great Expectations. Soon, you would be seeing in a music album, which is his home production project. As far as awards are concerned he has won a couple of awards for his movie Ashiqui 2 and best supporting actor in IIFA.
