Actor-producer Kirti Kulhari has become the latest target of cyber fraud after unauthorized international transactions totaling ₹2,43,852 were fraudulently charged to her credit card. The actress promptly filed a complaint, prompting Mumbai Police to register an FIR and launch a Cyber Cell investigation.
How the Fraud Unfolded
Initial Alert: While at a multiplex in Andheri West, Kulhari received a notification for an unauthorized overseas transaction of $2,525 on Aeromexico Airlines.
Multiple Charges Discovered: Upon calling her bank’s customer support line, officials confirmed that a total of four unauthorized transactions had been processed without her consent.
Immediate Action: The bank blocked her credit card to prevent further losses, and Kulhari approached the Amboli Police Station to report the incident.
Investigation & Suspected Modus Operandi
The case has been transferred to the Cyber Cell, which is collaborating with local police to trace the perpetrators by tracking transaction reference numbers and digital footprints.
