Aamir Khan planning to make a comeback with Ghajini 2?
Aamir Khan’s Ghajini (2008) is one of the most admired and beloved action films of the twenty-first century. Despite being a remake of a Tamil film, Ghajini has received a lot of affection from fans, and there have been rumours for a while that Aamir Khan is working on a sequel.
Following the box office failure of Laal Singh Chaddha last year, Aamir Khan announced that he has decided to take a break from acting. However, there have been rumours that Mr. Perfectionist is planning a comeback with an action film.

According to Peepingmoon, Aamir has been travelling to Hyderabad to meet with producer Allu Aravind of Geetha Arts to discuss their future collaborations. They both have been discussing various projects from last few months and one of that project is Ghajini sequel “The producer has a basic idea for the sequel and is eager to work with Aamir, who played Sanjay Singhania, a famous businessman suffering from anterograde amnesia, beautifully in the 2008 vengeance drama. Both are brainstorming ideas for how to move Singhania’s story forward, and they want to settle on one within the next several months”. A source was cited in the media publication.
Earlier this year, filmmaker AR Murugadoss, who directed both the Tamil and Hindi versions of Ghajini, was asked about the film’s sequel during a media interview, but the filmmaker made it clear that he has no interest in the Ghajini sequel and would rather come up with a new original idea for his next Hindi venture.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan’s last release Laal Singh Chaddha, which was a remake of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump (1994), and also featured Kareena Kapoor, had a dismal run at the box office. The film, helmed by Advait Chandan only managed to earn Rs. 70 crore at domestic box office and only Rs. 130 crore globally. With his previous two films failing to leave their mark at the box office, Aamir’s upcoming feature has a lot riding on it. Fans of Mr. Perfectionist are also hoping that Aamir would make a strong comeback like Shah Rukh Khan did with Pathaan.
