Aamir Khan and Suriya to Begin Simultaneous Shoot for Ghajini 2? “Allu Aravind Proposed the Sequel Idea

Aamir Khan and Suriya are both enthusiastic about the prospects of Ghajini 2, though they prefer to avoid labeling it as a remake. Reports indicate that Aamir has been in discussions with producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena about creating a sequel to the 2008 hit. The producers have shared a concept with Aamir, who has requested a fully developed storyboard before proceeding. In an intriguing development, Allu Aravind intends to produce Ghajini 2 in Tamil, with Suriya set to star in the lead role. Suriya recently confirmed this news in an interview, expressing his excitement for the project.
He told Pinkvilla, “It’s surprising that you’re asking about Ghajini 2 now. After some time, Allu Aravind reached out to me with the idea for a sequel, and I was thrilled to discuss it. Yes, talks have begun, and things are moving forward. Ghajini 2 might just happen!”A source informed the publication, “With the trend of Pan India films gaining momentum, remakes of cult classics featuring popular stars are becoming less relevant. Both Suriya and Aamir Khan are thrilled about the idea of Ghajini 2 but want to steer clear of the remake label. They are also worried that if one film releases before the other, it could detract from the novelty, and they conveyed their concerns to the producers.
In response to the actors’ input, Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena proposed filming both versions of Ghajini concurrently and releasing them on the same day.”Previously, it was reported that Aamir Khan is also considering a sequel to his blockbuster Ghajini. The original film, which made history as India’s first to surpass the Rs. 100 crores mark at the box office, has the potential to develop into a franchise. “Aamir has been in talks with producer Allu Aravind and the creative team, including Madhu Mantena, about the possibility of Ghajini 2. He believes the story has the potential to expand into a series but is waiting for a robust script before moving forward,” the source added.
