Aamir Khan and Family to Run Mumbai Marathon 2026 Supporting Paani and Agatsu Foundations

This January, the Khan family will take to the streets of Mumbai together with a shared mission at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026. Running as the Home Run Squad, each member will participate at their own pace but with one united purpose. Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Azad Rao Khan, and Ira Khan will join the Dream Run (5.9 km), Junaid Khan will compete in the Open 10 km, and Nupur Shikhare will take on the full 42 km marathon.
Their run supports two impactful organizations: Paani Foundation and Agatsu Foundation, both driven by the belief that meaningful change starts with community and knowledge. Founded by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, Paani Foundation has transformed drought-affected villages in Maharashtra through training, science, and teamwork. Starting in 2016 with the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup—a 45-day competition teaching villages water conservation—the foundation has grown into a movement of learning and self-reliance. Its ongoing Farmer Cup initiative applies similar principles to sustainable agriculture, showing that empowerment flourishes when people understand and act collectively.
The Agatsu Foundation, created by Ira Khan, aims to make mental health accessible, affordable, and compassionate. From its free community center and affordable therapy clinic in Bandra to programs that simplify psychology for everyday life, Agatsu helps people build emotional hygiene, connection, and self-empowerment.

Both foundations emphasize that lasting change happens when people take ownership of solutions—whether teaching farmers to read the land or individuals to understand their minds. In 2026, Paani Foundation plans to expand its mission across
Maharashtra, working with every farmer to improve livelihoods. Meanwhile, Agatsu will deepen its mental health initiatives, bringing knowledge to life in creative, practical ways that support individuals, families, communities, and the broader health system.
This collective change calls for united action. Through their run, the Khan family’s message is clear: donate, share, and stay informed. Every drop of knowledge, every act of care, and every kilometer run brings us closer—to water, to wellbeing, and to each other.
