A letter to Sidharth Shukla

Dear Sidharth,

There are only a few actors in the industry who become my crush. Sidharth you came into our life as Shiv. Wearing formals and those glasses with a big smile. I was in school when I saw you for the first time on TV and that was the moment I was sure this is my dream man.

Sidharth, you were a true treasure. Thousands of girls, including myself, have fallen in love with you. In every skin you wore, you were the best. You were the greatest in whatever you did, from Shiv in Balika Vadhu to Parth in Dil Se Dil Tak to Angad Bedi in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.

After some time had passed, I decided to pursue a career as an entertainment journalist. I met a lot of celebrities and movie stars, but you were always my childhood crush. Nobody knows, but I just watched Bigg Boss 13 to see you, and I was overjoyed when you won the brilliant trophy, as if I had won something myself.

You visited my city in 2017 to promote your show Dil Se Dil Tak. When my editor asked me to come to your interview, I jumped up and down like a kid. And what a day it was. We talked for about a half-hour, and I couldn’t stop blushing. I was clearly too much for a journalist, but you were a great gem. You made me feel at ease and ensured that I was performing at my best. It’s as if just meeting you wasn’t enough. I had the pleasure of having lunch with you. You were so kind to share a slice of cake from your plate with me. Sidharth, I’ll never forget that day.

It feels like there was so much more for you to do now that you’ve gone forever, leaving an empty hole in our hearts. There was so much you could teach the industry. Sidharth, life will never be the same without you. I’ll always remember you in my prayers.

Love,

Reema
