The digital formats have brought many people to storm when it comes to content. Most of the time it goes unregulated unlike the films passing through the Censor Board. Hence many challenge the various web series coming on different OTT platforms. The current one comes in the form of Hasmukh, which is all set to come on the popular OTT platform called Netflix. There was a PIL filed against the said comedy web series at the Delhi High Court asking to stay on the release of the series.Â
 The court while reacting on the case said that by putting the stay on the series would hamper the freedom of speech. It further said that by doing so it would hamper the essence of democracy as well along with putting their creativity at bay. It further said that the liberty of the venture would be compromised. It concluded by saying that the series or any other film only reflects the things or trends happening in the society. It said that the web series only exposed the illness of the society in a humorous way and the court did not find anything objectionable.Â
This has given a good move by the court as far as the OTT platform Netflix is concerned. Talking about the web series, it has four episodes in the first season, which include a couple of satire and derogatory remarks against the legal fraternity. In the meantime, the counsel from Netflix argued saying that the lawyers are not being defamed with their show. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
