Ajay Devgn Talks about his next film Maidaan & Its Character
As Ajay Devgn is celebrating a good opening of his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior released yesterday, we also know that he has two more films in his kitty for this year. These include the two biopics called Bhuj – The Pride Of India and Maidaan on a footballer. The film Maidaan has Ajay Devgn playing the leading man showcasing the football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. He is the same sportsperson who has coached India to get a victory at the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962.
Ajay Devgn was seen recently wrapping up the shoot in Calcutta and he has talked about it and the character he is playing. The man with his exception coaching skills has made the Indian football team be known as the Brazil of Asia back in his good old days. While doing this biopic, the actor has got the chance to explore the life of Rahim. He called him to be yet another unsung hero of his time just like Tanaji Malusare in Indian History.
He said it would be an honor for him to introduce the life of the legend to the world with this film. While he was shooting in Bengal, he also got the chance to meet many veterans in the world of football including the football star called PK Banerjee who played with Syed Abdul Rahim. Talking about the meeting, the actor said that it was a dream come true experience and he loved meeting this man. He said this was the man who took the Indian football to the next level.
