‘Border 2’ Fame Medha Rana Joins Ahan Shetty in Tinu Suresh Desai’s Action-Romance ‘Sanki’
Actress Medha Rana has been cast opposite Ahan Shetty in director Tinu Suresh Desai’s upcoming action-romance feature Sanki. Desai, known for directing films such as Rustom and Mission Raniganj, has officially commenced production on the project in Bhopal. Rana’s casting follows her recent appearance in the multi-starrer blockbuster Border 2 (2026), where she was paired opposite Varun Dhawan.
Industry sources report that following the commercial success of Border 2, Rana spent two months undergoing extensive workshops and physical training to prepare for her role in Sanki. The character is described as a high-intensity performance requiring both dramatic screen presence and involvement in major action sequences.
“When the script of Sanki was narrated, Medha knew this was the project she was looking for,” a source close to the development revealed. “Her character is laced with romance, intensity, and a significant dose of action. While Ahan and Medha both appeared in Border 2 alongside different co-stars, pairing them opposite each other in this film promises strong on-screen chemistry.”
The casting introduces a notable creative overlap with Border 2. While Shetty was paired opposite Anya Singh in the war drama—and is set to collaborate with her again in 1920: Cold Winter—his pairing with Rana in Sanki marks another reunion between key cast members of the 2026 blockbuster.
Jointly produced under the banners of We The People, Roaring River Productions, and Pals & Peers Entertainment, Sanki is currently filming its initial schedules in Bhopal. Positioned as a major action-drama release slated for 2027, the makers are expected to unveil the film’s official first look promotional assets in the coming days.
