Is Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat 2 on the Horizon? Milap Zaveri Confirms Sequel Talks
Celebrated filmmaker Milap Zaveri recently marked the first anniversary of his sleeper hit, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, by confirming that conversations regarding a sequel are actively taking place. Spurred by sustained fan enthusiasm and ongoing social media buzz, Zaveri revealed that discussions have taken place alongside producer Anshul Garg, lead stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, and Raghav Sharma.
Highlighting the film’s viral reach, Zaveri noted that thousands of content creators continue to make Reels based on the romantic drama. He warmly recalled how the original feature came together almost magically, going on floors a mere 13 days after his initial meeting with Garg in April 2025. He expressed that when the timing is right, the team intends to bring Part 2 to life with equal passion.
The lingering appreciation for Deewaniyat has also provided Zaveri with a solid shield following the underwhelming box-office performance of his subsequent releases, Mastiii 4 (2025) and Tera Yaar Hoon Main (2026). The director shared that Deewaniyat reaffirmed industry and audience faith in his penchant for intense, high-emotion love stories in the vein of Marjaavaan, Aashiqui 2, and Tere Naam.
Capitalizing on this momentum, Zaveri is currently preparing for his next directorial effort starring Aditya Roy Kapur. Produced by Bhushan Kumar—who strongly urged him to craft another powerful romance the untitled film is slated to begin shooting later this year. The movie will feature a robust supporting cast, including actor Shaad Randhawa, whom Zaveri described as his trusted lucky charm.
With excitement surrounding the project growing, an official unveiling of the title and leading lady is expected soon. Though fans anticipated an announcement on Zaveri’s birthday, November 14, the director hinted that the big reveal will likely happen even earlier.
