CBFC Clears Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvaan with Zero Cuts
Sidharth Malhotra is set to return to the big screen alongside Tamannaah Bhatia in the upcoming forest-themed entertainer The Vvaan. The film, which features Chhath Puja celebrations as a key cultural element, has officially completed its certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
In a rare occurrence for mainstream Indian cinema, the Examining Committee of the CBFC passed The Vvaan without requesting a single cut, modification, or audio-visual edit. The board did not even ask for standard additions such as anti-smoking or anti-drug disclaimers. Consequently, the film received a clean ‘U/A 16+’ certificate on September 22.
Runtime and Technical Details
According to the official censor certificate, the film has a total runtime of 136.25 minutes (2 hours, 16 minutes, and 25 seconds). The first half runs for 1 hour and 4 minutes, while the post-intermission portion spans 1 hour and 12 minutes.
Industry observers note that receiving a “No Cuts” certification reflects the film’s family-friendly approach to its story. The writers and directors appear to have managed violent and romantic elements responsibly, leaving no ground for censor objections. Production and Release Details
The Vvaan is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, in association with Arunabh Kumar’s TVF Motion Pictures and Niraj Kothari’s 11:11 Productions.
Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, who is well known for his work in popular digital series, the film aims to bring a fresh narrative rooted in traditional Indian festivities to nationwide audiences. The Vvaan is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 25, 2026.
