Arjun Rampal to Lead Amazon MX Player Original ‘Billionaire’ Under Hansal Mehta and Robbie Grewal

Fresh off his acclaimed performance in the box-office juggernaut Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Arjun Rampal has been announced as the lead for the upcoming high-stakes drama, Billionaire. The Amazon MX Player original was officially unveiled at the Amazon Ads: Connected Worlds event in Mumbai, marking a major collaboration between some of the industry’s most respected creators.

A Powerhouse Creative Team

The series brings together a formidable lineup of talent behind the camera. Directed by Hansal Mehta (known for Scam 1992) and Robbie Grewal, the show is written by Anubhav Chopra and Shantanu Sagara. Produced by Prabhleen Sandhu under the Almighty Motion Picture banner, the project is a cornerstone of Amazon MX Player’s aggressive new slate of original programming.

Ambition, Power, and the Cost of Success

Set against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving modern India, Billionaire chronicles the meteoric rise of a business magnate who rewrites the rules of the corporate world to build a global empire. The narrative delves deep into the psychological and personal toll that absolute power and unbridled ambition take on an individual.

Amogh Dusad, Head of Content at Amazon MX Player, noted that the series aims to explore the “cost of success.” He added that bringing Arjun Rampal on board adds the necessary “gravitas and intensity” required for such a complex, commanding character.

Arjun Rampal’s “Dream” Collaboration

For Rampal, the role represents a significant career milestone. Expressing his excitement, the actor shared:

“Working with the incredible Hansal Mehta and Robbie Grewal has been a dream come true… The preparation starts soon, I am soaking into the world and getting to know the character better.”

How to Watch

In a move to reach the widest possible audience, Billionaire will be available free to stream exclusively on the Amazon MX Player app. Viewers can access the series across mobile devices, connected TVs, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Airtel Xstream.
