Siddhant Chaturvedi and Alizeh to Star in Vikas Bahl’s 1990s-Set UK Punjabi Music Drama: Report

Filmmaker Vikas Bahl is venturing into a full-fledged musical romance drama with an untitled project starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Alizeh Agnihotri in lead roles, produced by Reliance Entertainment. According to Variety India, the film draws inspiration from the rise of the UK Punjabi underground music movement of the 1990s, which happens to be a pivotal era when music became a powerful expression of identity for the post-immigrant generation. This movement blended traditional Punjabi folk with Western influences, creating a unique cross-cultural sound that deeply resonated across UK communities.

Set against this vibrant backdrop, Bahl’s film will focus on a love story intertwined with themes of ambition, identity, and artistic passion. Siddhant is reportedly cast as a drummer, while Alizeh will play a singer. The narrative will follow their personal and creative journeys during what is considered a defining period for UK Punjabi music. Known for acclaimed films like QueenSuper 30, and Shaitaan, Bahl has completed the script and is gearing up for pre-production, with shooting planned for the latter half of 2026.

This project marks Siddhant’s second collaboration with Bahl following their upcoming romantic comedy Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, set to release later this year.
