Sanjay Leela Bhansali Faces FIR in Rajasthan Over Allegations by Line Producer on Love & War Set

Renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is embroiled in a legal controversy after an FIR was filed against him and two members of his team in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The complaint was lodged on Monday, September 1, by line producer Prateek Taj Mathur, who has accused Bhansali and associates of fraud, misbehaviour, and breach of trust.

According to Circle Officer Vishal Jangid, Mathur alleged that he was hired as the line producer for Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War, but his contract was abruptly terminated without payment. Mathur claimed that despite handling multiple production responsibilities—including arranging resources and coordinating with government departments—he was removed from the project unceremoniously. This information was shared in a PTI report. Mathur also stated in the FIR that when he tried to meet Bhansali’s team at a hotel, he was met with disrespectful behaviour.

The FIR has been registered under charges including fraud, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation. Bichhwal SHO Govind Singh Charan is currently investigating the case.This complaint raises serious concerns about the management and professional conduct behind the scenes of the high-profile project. As of now, neither Sanjay Leela Bhansali nor his team have issued any official statements addressing the allegations.

Love & War, directed by Bhansali, is an epic drama starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. The film reportedly features Ranbir and Vicky as Indian Air Force pilots. Several scenes were recently filmed in Rajasthan. Reports suggest that a visual reveal related to the film might coincide with Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday on September 28, though it’s unclear if this will be a first look poster or a teaser featuring the lead cast. The film is slated for a theatrical release in March 2026.With the FIR now filed and investigations ongoing, this legal dispute casts a shadow over what is anticipated to be one of the biggest cinematic releases of 2026.
