Ranveer Singh Not Producing Shaktimaan, Confirms Official Statement

Amidst increasing speculation about Ranveer Singh taking on the iconic role of India’s superhero Shaktimaan as both actor and producer, Singh’s team has issued a clear denial to set the record straight. On May 29, a report from Filmfare suggested that Singh had secured the rights to the beloved character, intending to produce a web series inspired by the classic show that originally starred Mukesh Khanna.

“No Truth to These Reports,” Says Official Statement

In response to the swirling rumors, Ranveer Singh’s team released a statement categorically denying any involvement in a Shaktimaan project. The statement read, “The news about Ranveer Singh acquiring rights to develop a new superhero (Shaktimaan) project as the producer holds no truth. He is currently busy shooting for Aditya Dhar’s next, and then Don 3 is also on the cards for him.”This clarification effectively puts to rest months of speculation linking Singh to a potential revival of Shaktimaan. Furthermore, it confirms that Mukesh Khanna, the original creator and face of the series, is not collaborating with Singh on any such endeavor.

Currently, Ranveer Singh is occupied with filming Aditya Dhar’s upcoming action thriller, and preparations for Don 3 are already in the works. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the third installment of the Don franchise is anticipated to begin production later this year. Interestingly, Kiara Advani, who was initially set to play the female lead, has reportedly stepped away from the film following her pregnancy announcement, and a new lead has yet to be confirmed.

Most recently, Singh made his mark in Singham Again, alongside a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Tiger Shroff, marking his return to Rohit Shetty’s cop universe.
