John Abraham Reveals Rakesh Maria Biopic Look; Confirms Rohit Shetty Film & Munkeeman with Abhishek Sharma

John Abraham recently launched the graphic novel ‘Lakadbaggha: The Prologue’, written by actor-filmmaker Anshuman Jha and illustrated by American comic book artist Brittain Peck. This novel is based on the film Lakadbaggha (2023), in which Anshuman plays the lead role of an animal vigilante. The launch event also saw the presence of Ridhi Dogra, who starred in the film alongside Jha.

At the event, John Abraham shared some notable insights and confirmed several of his upcoming projects. He revealed, “Very interestingly, my director has written a comic book called ‘Munkeeman’. We are currently making a film based on it. It’s fascinating to discuss. The director’s name is Abhishek Sharma. I previously worked with him on Parmanu (2018), and he’s a very smart and intelligent guy. The subject matter is intriguing. I love animals, which is why we are pursuing that movie.”‘Munkeeman’, which was launched in 2012, is inspired by the infamous Monkey Man incident that occurred in Delhi that same year.

The synopsis available online states: “In the summer of 2001, a strange creature caused panic and chaos in the city of Delhi. No one knew his true identity. Then, one day, he vanished, never to return—until today. Munkeeman is back, and he wants you to know that he is not a monster but India’s own authentic superhero.” Abhishek Sharma is also known for directing films like Tere Bin Laden (2010) and Ram Setu (2022).

During the event, John Abraham sported a striking new moustache look. When a reporter inquired if this was his look for the Rakesh Maria biopic, he confirmed with a simple “Ji.” Asked about his experience working on the film, he responded, “Very good,” but declined to elaborate further. The biopic is directed by blockbuster filmmaker Rohit Shetty.With these exciting announcements and projects on the horizon, John Abraham continues to make waves in the entertainment industry.
