Thalapathy Vijay officially announces his next film ‘Thalapathy 68’ under the direction of Venkat Prabhu

Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay officially announced his next film, with the working title ‘Thalapathy 68’. Vijay made the official announcement by uploading a new poster on 21 May on his social media handle.

Vijay published the announcement video on his social media accounts, in which an unidentified person is seen circling the names of all the major people involved in the project in a crossword puzzle. Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose music for the film, according to the video. The one-minute-and-eighteen-second footage went viral as soon as the superstar released it.

Venkat Prabhu, who recently directed the bilingual action drama ‘Custody’ starring Naga Chaitanya, will direct the film. Venkat Prabhu took to social media to share the same short video about the announcement, captioning it, “Dreams do come true God is kind #Thalapathy68 (sic).”

Kalpathi S Aghoram’s AGS Entertainment will produce the film. This is their second collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay, following action-entertainer Bigil (2019).

Makers also shared an official statement about the upcoming project. The statement also said that the film boasts of the best technicians of global standards and highest production values. The rest of the cast and crew and other production details will be released by the production team in due time.

Meanwhile, Thalapathi Vijay is busy in the shoot of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller ‘Leo’ which is likely to give him a pan-India appeal. Leo is scheduled to be released in theatres worldwide on the 19th of October 2023. The much-awaited film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, ‘Leo’ also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in important roles. As per reports, Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing Vijay’s father role in Leo.
