Salman Khan insisted on deleting Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty’s kiss scene from ‘Hero’.
It’s a well-known fact that the 49 year-old actor and producer has famously always refused to do kissing scenes, and now it seems he’s extending that rule to his proteges, Sooraj and Athiya.
The ‘Bodyguard’ star’s latest production venture, ‘Hero’, is directed by Nikhil Advani, and stars Sooraj and Athiya, both of whom are Bollywood newcomers. Salman has taken it upon himself to become the young stars’ mentor, and is aiming to successfully launch their careers, but it seems the actor may have become a bit over-protective of the duo.
According to the Mumbai Mirror, the film originally contained a lip-lock scene, which Salman demanded to be deleted as soon as he saw it.
Director, Nikhil, said: “It was just a peck. A brush of the lips, but even before I could see it, Salman did, and insisted on editing it out. His argument was that in all these years, he had never kissed on screen, so there was no reason for his ‘children’ to lock lips.”
The romantic action film, which is a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 film of the same name, is set to release on September 11
