SRK Delivers Touching Address Upon Winning Best Actor for ‘Jawan’ at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024

On Tuesday night in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan was honored with the Best Actor award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 for his exceptional performance in Atlee Kumar’s directorial, Jawan. During his acceptance speech, the actor candidly confessed that it had been a while since he received the Best Actor award, and he had started to believe he might not win again.

“I thank the jury who considered me worthy of the Best Actor award. I have not received the Best Actor Award in a long time. It seemed as if I would not get it again…So I am extremely happy. I like awards. I am a bit greedy,” Shah Rukh Khan shared in his speech, eliciting laughter from the audience.

Spotting Dunki director Vidhu Vinod Chopra in the audience, Khan quipped, “Mere se zyada Vidhu Vinod Chopra ko acche lagte hai. Hum dono share kar lenge,” light-heartedly offering to share the accolade.

Expressing his gratitude, Shah Rukh Khan went on to thank Atlee, his co-stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, music director Anirudh Ravichander, and everyone involved in making Jawan a massive success. He expressed genuine thrill and appreciation for the recognition, emphasizing the collaborative effort involved in an artist’s work.

In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan made a remarkable comeback with Pathaan, followed by Jawan and Dunki. The former two films earned over Rs. 1000 crore at the global box office, while Dunki also achieved success with Rs. 212.42 crores at the Indian box office.

Regarding his upcoming projects, Shah Rukh Khan is yet to announce his next endeavor, although there are speculations that he is collaborating with Sujoy Ghosh for Red Chillies Entertainment’s next project, King, where he is expected to star alongside Suhana Khan.
