SSR’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani’s lawyer reveals that his bail is pending in the drugs case
Sushant Singh Rajput, a Bollywood actor, passed away on June 14, 2020. The actor was purportedly discovered hanging in his Bandra residence. And an investigation into his death has been ongoing since then. The Central Bureau of Investigation and the National Crime Bureau looked into his death from many perspectives (Narcotics Control Bureau). During the investigation, NCB discovered a drug connection and began looking into the drug case related to Sushant’s death.
Sushant’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani was detained by the NCB in Hyderabad last year in connection with a drug case involving the late actor. Siddharth filed numerous bail petitions, but they were all denied. According to the most recent developments, Pithani’s lawyer Taraq Sayyed has reported that Siddharth is still awaiting bail. Taraq told Etimes TV, “We have applied for bail in January but the hearing is yet to come up in court.”
For the uninitiated, NCB detained Siddharth Pithani after evidence from his phone and WhatsApp communications revealed he had alleged ties to narcotics suppliers. Despite the fact that Pithani’s bail was repeatedly denied, the court granted him special permission to attend his wedding in Hyderabad in 2021. He submitted himself a fortnight after his marriage, according to reports.

Not just Siddharth Pithani came under the radar of NCB, the investigating agency arrested several others in the Sushant Singh Rajput drugs case. SSS’s rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, and her brother Showik Chakraborty among others got arrested.

Last month, CBI has reportedly refused to provide any information regarding Sushant Singh Rajput Case to an RTI query. CBI released a statement that read, “Sushant Singh Rajput case is in the process of investigation, information about the progress may impede the process of investigation. Information requested cannot be provided.”
