Once the Bombay High Court (BHC) this Monday rejected the petition that was filed against Madhur Bhandarkar next film Indu Sarkar, the release date has gone in a legal soup now. Priya Singh Paul, a woman who is now claiming to be the biological daughter of the late Congress leader Mr. Sanjay Gandhi, on Wednesday approached the SC asking a stay on the release of the film. The counsel representing Paul was seen having an urgent hearing in the presence of a three judge bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra.
The film Indu Sarkar was supposed to be releasing this Friday but as the council was seen stating that the Madhur Bhandarkar-directed film is seen with concocted facts and is completlely derogatory, hence it has been not allowed to be released this Friday. Also, the bench with other judges like Amitava Roy and A.M. Khanwilkar didnt give any date for hearing the plea and simply asked to check the memo. Also the Court said that once the film gets the certification from the censor board, it has its own limitation on reviewing the movie.
Later the court said that there was no allegation from any other sibling of Sanjay Gandhi or from any quarter of the government, hence the review of the film is not required. But as we see the court closing its statement without interfering the release date, the film will certainly be releasing this Friday. On the other side, the director Madhur Bhandarkar is a bit disappointed to see controversy reaching to such a height as he says that the film is a commercial movie and not a biopic, hence to present things the way it were is difficult.
