20 Years of Nayak: Anil Kapoor Shares How He got the Role when Aamir & SRK Rejected the film
It’s exactly 20 years since the Anil Kapoor film Nayak was released in the theatres. The film with the idea of one day CM had made it a cult movie in B Town and people still want to watch it. It was released on 7th September and as the 64 year actor Anil Kapoor celebrates his day, he was quick to share about how things move ahead in life. He said the film was offered to both Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. However, to get the role, Anil Kapoor had called up the director Shankar for it.
He sensed the film’s success after hearing about the concept. While speaking about it he said, he always knew that the film has that spark to make it big at the box office. He said he had the feeling that the script has something big for the future. The theme of the film seemed very much relatable and relevant to the audience. The kind of connection between people and government was perfectly shown in it and that makes it an interesting concept for the audience.
He said he was able to connect with the script and the film. Considering the good star cast with actors like Amrish Puri, Johnny Level and Rani Mukerji, the time he had was great. Anil Kapoor said that he had great memories while making the movie. He still remembers the fight scene and he had to fight without any clothes on it that made things really challenging.
