The sudden passing of celebrated singer, composer, and actor Zubeen Garg has left fans across India and beyond in profound shock. Best known for his iconic hit ‘Ya Ali,’ the 52-year-old artist tragically died in Singapore during a scuba diving accident, just a day before he was set to perform at a cultural festival celebrating North East India.
Amid the grief, Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, has made a heartfelt appeal for peace, unity, and dignity throughout his final rites. In a touching video message shared by India Today Nepal, Garima spoke in Nepali, urging fans to ensure that the ceremonies proceed without disruption.“
Zubeen is coming home. While he was alive, you all showered him with love and blessings, and Zubeen loved you all in return. I hope the last rites for his departure go peacefully. The police and state administration are fully supporting us,” she said.
Garima also extended her support to Siddharth, a close family friend who stood by Zubeen during some of his toughest moments, including his severe seizure in 2020 and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.“Zubeen has always considered Siddharth as one of us.
Whenever anyone spoke against him, Zubeen stood by Siddharth. Please allow Siddharth to be part of Zubeen’s final journey. I request everyone to set aside negative thoughts about Siddharth. I need all my people around me tomorrow, and I cannot do this without Siddharth’s support,” she added.
She further appealed for the withdrawal of all FIRs filed against Siddharth, emphasizing that Zubeen had many unfinished commitments that she cannot carry forward alone.
