Yash Raj Films (YRF) is the leading production house in Indian cinema, and they are currently preparing for the release of the highly anticipated film War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR in lead roles. Set to hit theaters on August 14, 2025, the promotional campaign kicked off with a teaser launch on NTR’s birthday. Now, exclusive sources have confirmed that the teaser will also air during the IPL final.
High Expectations and Record Budget
Industry insiders report that War 2 is YRF’s most expensive film to date, with a staggering budget of nearly Rs. 400 crores. In anticipation of its release, the studio has meticulously planned a large-scale promotional rollout. As part of their aggressive marketing strategy, YRF has secured prime advertising slots during the IPL 2025 Final on May 30.
These promotional materials are expected to air during innings and breaks—historically some of the highest-viewed television segments in India. This approach aims to maximize visibility among a broad and diverse audience. The initial phase of the campaign will focus on the thrilling “Hrithik Roshan vs NTR” dynamic, while more dramatic elements of the film will be revealed closer to the theatrical release in the trailer.
Strategic Teaser Release
Interestingly, sources close to YRF have confirmed that Aditya Chopra expedited the teaser’s release by a full month ahead of its initial plan. This strategic decision coincided with NTR’s birthday, allowing them to target his regional fan base in the Telugu heartland early in the extensive marketing cycle.
