Param Sundari, the last film released in August, enjoyed a strong opening and maintained steady box office performance during the weekdays, thanks to positive word of mouth. One intriguing detail caught the attention of many viewers: the opening disclaimer of the film included a special thanks to actress Kriti Sanon and producer-director Luv Ranjan—known for hits like Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023). This sparked curiosity, with some fans even hoping for a special appearance by Kriti in the film.
However, Kriti Sanon does not appear in the film. A source told Bollywood Hungama the reason behind the special thanks: “Kriti is the original ‘Param Sundari.’ The song Param Sundari was featured in her film Mimi (2021) and became immensely popular, making the term a household phrase. Since Param Sundari and Mimi were both produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the team decided to acknowledge Kriti in the opening credits as a thoughtful gesture.”Kriti shares a long-standing relationship with Maddock Films, having starred in seven of their productions: Raabta (2017), Luka Chuppi (2019), Arjun Patiala (2019), Mimi (2021), Hum Do Hamare Do (2021), Bhediya (2022), and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024).
Recently, it was announced that she has signed on for Cocktail 2, another Dinesh Vijan project, and is expected to appear in Bhediya 2 as well.At Maddock Films’ success bash earlier this year, a montage of their popular films was played. Kriti remarked, “How many films have I done with Maddock? I was in almost every third frame shown in the reel! I’ve done seven films and will soon start my eighth with them.”
She also expressed gratitude towards Dinesh Vijan, saying, “He believed in me when no one else did. People questioned, ‘Why her?’”Regarding Luv Ranjan, the source explained, “He provided valuable inputs to the Param Sundari makers. The film leans towards a quirky tone, which is Luv’s forte.
