Veteran Actor Asrani Passes Away at 84 After Prolonged Illness

Renowned and versatile Hindi film actor Govardhan Asrani, popularly known simply as Asrani, passed away this evening around 4 PM at Arogya Nidhi Hospital, Juhu, Mumbai, after a long battle with illness. He was 84 years old. His cremation took place at Shastri Nagar, Santacruz, attended by close friends and family, as confirmed by his manager Babubhai Thiba.
Hailing originally from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Asrani’s death marks the end of a significant chapter in Indian cinema, particularly in the field of comic acting. Asrani was celebrated across generations for his flawless comic timing and unforgettable expressions, making him a beloved household name.
