After gaining widespread acclaim with Animal, Triptii Dimri is once again making waves with her upcoming film Dhadak 2. Following the path of her previous impactful projects like Laila Majnu, Qala, and Bulbbul, Triptii continues to deliver performances that blend cinematic brilliance with meaningful social commentary. In Dhadak 2, she and co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi take on the issue of casteism, portraying a love story grounded in realism and courage.
Speaking about her role, Triptii shares, “For me, she is Vidhi. She’s someone unafraid to speak her truth. There’s so much to learn from her because she makes you feel empowered.”She opens up further, saying, “I’ve always been an introvert. I’ve witnessed injustices but often stayed silent. For 30 years, I kept quiet about many things, lacking the courage to call out what was wrong. I told Shazia [the director] that I wanted to be like Vidhi — by the end of the film, I hoped I’d have the bravery to speak my truth without fear of anyone or any outcome. Now, I stand up more firmly for what’s right. This film has helped me open up and find my voice.”
Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is set to release on August 1. Beyond this, Triptii has an exciting slate of projects lined up, including Vishal Bhardwaj’s next film with Shahid Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit alongside Prabhas. With such a compelling lineup, Triptii Dimri continues to establish herself as one of the most sought-after actresses in contemporary Indian cinema.
