The theatrical release of the English-dubbed version of Toxic has met with a disastrous response at the domestic box office. While the original Kannada version alongside Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam dubs hit theaters on August 26, the English cut was released selectively on September 4. Plagued by poor word-of-mouth and stiff competition from holding titles like Hanuman Ansh and Mirzapur The Movie, the English edition was allocated just 11 shows across four major cities: Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurugram, and Noida.
Data reveals that the English version managed a paltry collection of approximately ₹1.40 lakhs on its opening day, selling just around 450 tickets nationwide. Occupancy was slightly better in Mumbai and Bengaluru, whereas show counts in Gurugram and Noida saw fewer than 25 ticket sales combined. Given the initial rejection, theater screens are expected to cut down showcasing over the weekend, putting the film’s English lifetime collection well below the ₹10 lakh mark.
Across all language versions, Toxic generated roughly ₹1.50 crore to ₹1.60 crore on September 4. The core Kannada version contributed ₹75 lakh to ₹80 lakh, while the Hindi dub brought in around ₹70 lakh to ₹75 lakh. This represents a steep drop from its Thursday performance, where the Hindi version alone netted ₹2.54 crore.
Although the extended first-week collections for Toxic‘s Hindi version stand at a respectable ₹130.09 crore, the sharp decline in daily earnings leaves its prospects of crossing the ₹150 crore milestone uncertain.
