The cast of The Paradise, including lead actor Nani, Sonali Kulkarni, Raghav Juyal, and Kayadu Lohar, recently attended a promotional press conference in Mumbai. During the event, Nani addressed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issuing an ‘A’ rating for the film.
Addressing the adult certification, Nani explained that while an ‘A’ rating prevents children from watching, the movie’s violence is driven by its storyline rather than shock value. He emphasized that The Paradise is fundamentally an emotional drama with strong family themes and a love story. He noted that adults and parents can fully enjoy the film together. Nani also confirmed that the team expected an adult rating while shooting and did not try to push for a ‘U/A’ certificate.
Censor Board Modifications
Before granting the certification, the censor board required several visual, audio, and content edits. The board ordered reductions in the length of violent stabbing scenes and requested the complete removal of ten explicit sequences involving torture and blood.
The makers were also asked to make several visual adjustments. These included replacing shots of a crow on the National Flag, modifying opening scenes featuring a pregnant woman, and using CGI to blur a tattoo that contained offensive language.

At the same time, multiple audio edits were made throughout the film. Strong profanity was muted in most places, and specific references to real-life cigarette brands, historical assassinations, and armed struggles were either modified or silenced. The board also instructed the team to delete references to ‘denotified tribes.’
Despite the edits and the strict rating, the team remains confident in the emotional strength of the story. The Paradise is set for its grand theatrical release on September 24, 2026. Stay tuned to know more only with us.
