Sumona Chakravarti REACTS to the rumors of quitting The Kapil Sharma Show

Sumona Chakravarti has been a member of the popular comedy show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ for numerous years and is noted for her outstanding performance. During her absence from the show, however, there were speculations that the actress had left to pursue new possibilities and would be hosting a travel show called Shonar Bengal. As a result, she has decided to part ways with comedy superstar Kapil Sharma. In a recent interview, Sumona addressed the rumors and explained that she has not left the comedy show.

“Let me absolutely confirm that I haven’t resigned The Kapil Sharma Show and don’t intend to do it either,” Sumona Chakravarti declared in a recent interview. She went on to say that the ‘Shonar Bangla’ performance is only a one-month commitment. Sumona Chakravarti also explained why she decided to do this travel show, stating that it allows her to pursue both her passion for travel and her identity as a proud Bengali.

 In a recent interview, Sumona Chakravarti said, “Let me firmly confirm that I haven’t quit The Kapil Sharma Show and don’t intend to do it either.” She further revealed that the ‘Shonar Bangla’ show is a short one with just a one-month commitment. Sumona also revealed the reason for taking up this travel-based show as she stated it facilitates both her passion for travel and being a proud Bengali she took up the show.

 Sumona Chakravarti is most known for her portrayal as Sarla Gulati, host Kapil Sharma’s neighbour who is hopelessly in love with him on The Kapil Sharma Show. She has been a part of the comedy show since the beginning. Shonar Bengal is a travel-themed show for Zee Entertainment’s lifestyle channel Zee Zest, and it will be a 10-episodic series, according to reports.

Speaking about being a part of this show, Sumona Chakravarti told The Tribune, “I got a chance to explore the state and unravel the stories that have been a part of my childhood but from a distance. This show gave me a chance to get up close & personal and experience them for the first time. Being able to interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds has been surreal and a great learning experience for me.”
