Skyfire Web Series Review: Good Beginning With a Less Attractive Continuity

Skyfire Web Series
Skyfire Web Series

  • Series Name: Skyfire
  • Director: Soumik Sen
  • Cast: Prateik Babbar, Sonali Chauhan, Jatin Goswami, Jisshu Sengupta, Shataf Figar

Even though, Skyfire starts with a roar screening unseasonal floods enveloping Kerala adding a journalist as Prateik Babbar, almost drowning in the devastation. The screen show goes even serious with the wading of the calamitous climate mentioned as per the ecological experts, “This is serious.”

Seriously pitched by the novelist Aroon Raman, the environmental warning series has been directed by Soumik Sen (From Cheat India). Skyfire comes up as a half-hearted attempt to capture the bite and the warning as depicted in the novel. First, the screenplay holds all the wrong plot-points and this is why it has come up as a dramatic yet underdeveloped series. The Muslim cop (played by Jatin Goswami) has been an honestly effective role displayed to send the duty-bound message that all Muslims are not terrorists.

The actors have let down the beleaguered script. Prateik who had played a striking role of a philandering bartender in the recent series Four More Shots Please even appears a bit befogged in the series.

The rest of the cast has also gone disastrous as the climate and even the presence of the talented Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta as an ambivalent politician seems to have forgotten his charm and craft of acting.

Attempt to hold viewers attention all through the eight episodes are at best but, hasn’t been a self sufficient one to keep the viewers glued.

Skyfire has created an interesting plot but, various lag points of the series has made it a bit weak to enjoy. Still, if you are a sci-fi lover, you can reasonably enjoy a few of the interesting viewing parts of this series.
