Killers of the Flower Moon trailer: Veteran filmmaker Martin Scorsese reunite with Leonardo DiCaprio and Rober De Niro in this thrilling haunting crime drama

‘Greed and crime’ have been the favourite themes of veteran filmmaker Martin Scorsese and we once again  see him exploring these themes in his upcoming crime drama ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’. After a lot of wait, makers have finally dropped the first trailer of the film which sees Martin reunite with two of his favourite actors- Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

The 1 minute 50 seconds trailer sets the stage for a thrilling and haunting crime saga that will definitely have some spine-chilling violent scenes. The trailer opens with Leonardo DiCaprio who plays the role of Ernest Burkhart arriving at a new place with his indigenous wife (played by Lily Gladstone). As they arrive at a new place onlookers are staring at them. The trailer then cuts between many violent scenarios, including someone being stabbed, a bomb exploding, an open shootout, and a house being burned down.

This is Martin Scorsese’s 7th film with Leonardo and 10th film with Robert De Niro. The film also stars Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, Jillian Dion, JaNae Collins, and Tantoo Cardinal.

Based on David Grann’s broadly lauded best-selling book, Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the ‘Reign of Terror’.

The book’s description reads- At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder.

Killers of the Flower Moon is set to make its world premiere tomorrow (20 May) at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is set to arrive in theatres on 6 October 2023.
