Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra gets U/A certification from CBFC

The long-awaited Ayan Mukerji film ‘Brahmastra,’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles, will be released on Friday.

As fans have started the countdown the hours until the film’s release, the CBFC cleared it on Tuesday and gave it a U/A certification. The movie, which is now available for advance booking in theatres, is expected to run for 166.54 minutes, or 2 hours, 46 minutes, and 54 seconds.

Brahmastra, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in prominent roles, as well as cameo appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, is already expected to do well at the box office. The producers, who began advance bookings today, projected a revenue of Rs 20-25 crore.

Indeed, advanced collections are claimed to be significantly greater than those of ‘RRR’ (Hindi) and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ at a theatre chain.

Director Ayan revealed on Tuesday that exclusive fan screenings of the film will be available on Thursday, a day before the international premiere.

Meanwhile, the film was in the news when the High Court barred multiple rouge websites from streaming ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva,’ saying piracy must be curtailed and dealt with harshly.

After granting Star India’s copyright infringement complaint, the Delhi High Court barred up to 18 websites from illegally streaming the film.

Meanwhile, Before the film’s release, the couple travelled to Ujjain with director Ayan Mukerji to visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple. They were photographed at the airport.

Alia and Ranbir saw their film in 3D for the first time with Ayan and other production members on Monday night. The actress tweeted the video and expressed her delight. She shared another video with Ranbir and Alia earlier today. She could be heard stating, “Hello, we are back once again with some more information. Firstly, we are on our way to Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.” Ayan then interrupted, “Which I am very excited about on the eve of our release. I am very happy we found the time to go.” Alia further said, “Ayan had gone for the motion poster launch, and Ranbir and I going now before the film launch. So we are very excited. Lots of good energy we can get hopefully, fingers crossed.” Sharing the video with the fans, she wrote, “ATTENTION ONCE AGAIN ???.” Have a look:
